Introduction
I am a certified sensorimotor psychotherapist and mindfulness/yoga practitioner and have worked as a therapist for over 30 years. The foundation of my approach is eclectic and includes body-centred psychotherapy, psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy. I have taught counseling/psychotherapy and group work both at the college and university level, supervised psychotherapy students as well as assisted in sensori-motor training programs. I trained as an occupational therapist in the early 1980's before obtaining a Masters degree in Adult Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto in the early 90's. I am a clinical member of the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists and past board member of the aforementioned society. I am also a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. (registration #003623) I have gathered valuable experience working with groups, couples and individuals in hospitals, community health clinics as well as in private practice. I continue to enjoy and thrive in my work and feel honored to be able to assist clients to reach their own personal vision that will bring them towards wholeness in their lives.
I currently practice in a central downtown location in the Bloor/St. George and currently offer individual therapy. I can be reached at janice@janicemeilach.com
