I would like to take a moment to welcome you to my profile. Searching for just the right psychotherapist for you is challenging. Do take your time to decide what questions are important to you. This will help you develop a baseline to assist you in recognizing the therapist whom interests you .
I offer a free half hour consultation for you to see how you feel discussing your grapplings with me. This can be arranged when you either email or telephone me for more information.
I have been in practice for over 15 years. Previously I enjoyed other careers in the arts, teaching Yoga, and massage therapy which are helpful in appreciating others emotional experience. Our body does keep score of how we developed our feelings. That knowledge will help us understand what shadows from the past may still be lurkng within our life experience and hindering the fully felt life that we wish for. This can be part of why we may feel difficulties as if they were in the present that were priinally formed a long time ago.
Your concerns and what you would like to focus on in your therapy are my concerns. I strive to develop a rapport with my clients that will make it easy for you to discuss any misunderstandings that may have taken place or thoughts on breaking new territory where you may feel more apprehensive than expected.
I am a relational/attachment based psychotherapist and shine the light on issues concerning your relationship to yourself and others. How we feel about ourselves can be formed by the relationships of those around us.
Some of the core issues that I have seen helped in my practice are: early childhood abuse: sexual, neglect, physical and emotional. How we perceive our life experience is developed as the brain is formed in utero to the early 20's. The best news is that our brains do adapt and can change all through our lives. It is never too late to start looking at that which we wish to change.
Other difficulties where I have seen clients get relief are: bullying, life changes, health issues, relationships, unresolved grief, anxiety, depression, stress, work challenges.
I look forward to hearing from you so that we can discuss this further.
