Mr. Rui Tian is a Registered Psychotherapist, a Registered Member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a Clinical Member of Ontario Society of Psychotherapists, specialized in mental health and addictions. He was an Executive Board Member, the Treasurer in 2013-2014, the Chair (2014-2016) and currently an active member of Professional Development Committee of Ontario Society of Psychotherapists.
Trained and registered as a Psychotherapist, certified as a Solution-Focused Therapist, Addictions and Mental Health therapist, and professional coach, his clinical practices focus on assessment and treatment of mental health and addictions—individual, couple, family, and group therapies. He also involved with major local Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and insurance companies providing brief assessment, psychotherapy, consultation, coaching, and referral services to individuals and their families in the community.
He conducts his psychotherapy with Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Family Systems Therapy integrated with elements from other modalities. He specializes in substances abuse, problem gambling, sex addiction, and other addictive behaviours; mood, anxiety, psychosis, personality, eating, and impulse-control disorders, developmental disabilities, trauma, chronic illness and pain, parenting, child and youth, and health and personal coaching.
His clients are from all walks of life, people with diverse issues, various sexual orientations, new to the country, and from diverse social/cultural backgrounds and age groups.
