Shalyn Isaacs

I regard therapy as sacred work we do together. I am a liberation-centered and decolonizing practitioner. This means that I support individuals with healing from trauma by addressing the ways that mental health is influenced by social inequities based on race, gender, class, ability and sexual orientation. Our work together will prioritize your inner-healing and personal freedom.  It is an invitation to move into self-empowerment from survival.

Areas of specialization:  Intergenerational trauma, spirituality, women’s mental health, multicultural identity issues, self-confidence, racism and social justice issues, sexual violence, creativity, existential issues, sexuality. The main approaches I use in therapy are guided by decolonial and anti-racist principles, trauma-informed therapy, Buddhist and yogic philosophy, somatics (body-based), and existential therapy.

I have worked as a Support Group Facilitator, Meditation Instructor, and in hospice care with those who are terminally ill and their families. Additionally, I am a Certified Trauma of Money Facilitator helping people understand and heal their financial issues from a trauma-informed perspective.

Together, we will create opportunities for you to live from alignment with your personal truth.
