Kelly Kirkham


Introduction

Kelly Kirkham is a Registered Psychotherapist and a Psycho-Spiritual Therapist with a private practice in Uptown Waterloo, Ontario. Kelly is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#007789), as well as an associate member of the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care, specializing in mental health. Kelly also brings education and training as a child and youth worker, 30 years of teaching, supervision and research in education, 17 years of experience in therapeutically supporting those who have lived through family violence, as well as experience in palliative care to this practice.

Kelly engages in a trauma- and violence-informed, anti-oppression, strength-based, integrative, collaborative, and person-centred practice. They bring their wholeness and a fully attentive presence into the therapeutic space and moment in order to invite the development of a trusting, therapeutic relationship in which connection and understanding can take root. This is a space in which all are welcome.

Kelly tailors their approach to meet the expressed needs, context, and worldview of each individual client, and engages and integrates therapeutic techniques drawn from a wide range of models including compassionate inquiry, narrative therapy, emotionally focused therapy, compassion focused therapy, expressive arts therapy, sensorimotor therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-sensitive movement.
